Materials & Care

Metals:
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of silver and other metals, usually copper.

Gold Filled
Gold-filled metal is composed of a solid layer of 14 karat gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal, where the thickness of the gold is equal to 1/20 of the total weight of the metal. It offers excellent long term wear durability. (Note, gold filled has a thickness of gold many times more than that of gold plating or gold electroplate)

Rose Gold
Rose gold is created by adding copper to the gold, to give it that warm pink color. All of the rose gold components we use are gold-filled.

Stones/Beads:
We use only natural or semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, various types of shell and some wooden beads. Each one is unique and carefully selected for its natural individual beauty.

Care for Your Jewelry
Each piece of jewelry that you buy from us is shipped in a zip lock type plastic bag. We do this for two reasons. First, this is a great way to keep your delicate jewelry from becoming tangled. We highly suggest you continue to store it in the plastic bag when you're not wearing it. Secondly, storing it in this bag keeps your jewelry away from dust and moisture that can lead to tarnishing.

Sterling silver can oxidize with exposure to certain chemicals sometimes found in lotions or makeup. We recommend wiping off your jewelry to remove any residue from perfume etc.
Chlorine can also cause discoloration or pitting on sterling silver.

If your jewelry does become tarnished it's best to gently buff with a non-abrasive polishing cloth. You can also clean it with a tiny bit of mild dish soap and water with a soft brush. Then, just rinse thoroughly and dry.
